If you’re finding yourself dealing with an overabundance of difficult clients, I want to let you in on a little secret. Difficult clients are often dream clients in disguise and working with them doesn’t have to be a struggle.
The last job I worked before starting my business was in the marketing department at a large corporation, and it involved running a considerable quantity of marketing analytics. I’m talking those kinds of Excel spreadsheets – the ones with hundreds of thousands of rows and numerous pivot tables, and a company intranet that required tons of maintenance and records updates.
It’s starting to heat up here in West Texas and we’re craving juicy refreshment in any form we can find it. Put on your favorite Lilly Pulitzer frock, call up your best girls and get busy squeezing. Champagne optional – but highly recommended! 😉
We’re so excited today to welcome you to our new internet home! While it may look like a minor visual refresh (since we LOVED the design and content of our old site), there’s a pretty profound change we’ve made here.
Our Magnoliahouse online headquarters is now powered by Squarespace!
Derby weekend is upon us! While I have little to no interest in actually watching horses run, I never miss a good southern opportunity for a party. Here’s your guide to celebrating the Kentucky Derby in style!
Unless you’re new here, you know we’re crazy about empowering business owners with beautiful Squarespace websites they can update easily and maintain hassle-free. But with so many business relying on search engine traffic for new inquiries, making the jump to Squarespace can be scary without a great SEO plan in place
We’re finishing out brand week today with another recently-launched stunner: Red Fern Landscape Design. Tina had recently moved with her family from New Hampshire to Iowa, and was craving a brand update before relaunching the business in her new state. We played deeply with contrast in this brand suite, as we paired the warm, rustic character of the natural world with clean elegance to appeal to her high-end clientele
Another day, another stunning brand. Edmina, owner of the UK-based Aleeka Events was in search of a high-fashion brand that would appeal to her luxury clientele, while invoking the spirit of her West African heritage (and planning specialty!). We put together a stunning brand centered around a custom, hand-inked print and paired it with soft blush and cool marble tones. We carried the spirit through a stunning stationery suite and luxe Squarespace website. While the full website doesn’t launch until September, you can enjoy a sneak peek below
Today we’re revealing the confetti inspired brand behind one of our marvelous Session I clients – Cheers! Chicago. Sarah is a fantastic planner, starting her own business after years of working in other businesses. With an emphasis on fun & celebration, we put together a bright brand filled with confetti, champagne, and all things glam
We’re back for Day 2 of brand week, and I’m especially excited to share this project with you. Our sweet client, Cara bought A Day to Cherish from its previous owner back in 2011. While she liked some aspects of the original logo, she was ready for a refresh and update – to put her own clean, classic style front and center of her brand. We started with an inspiration board (possibly my all-time favorite) to define the clean lines, bright colors and soft romanticism we were craving in this brand.
Happy spring, y’all! This week on the blog, we’re kicking off the season with five fresh new brands we’ve been dying to share. First up – a dreamy, coastal brand for Natalie Scott Events. We pulled inspiration from soft, organic elements paired with some of our favorite cool neutrals to create a brand that is equal parts airy and impactful. Driven by raw calligraphy and beautiful imagery, we rounded out the suite with a darling monogram, luxe stationery and a website who’s sole purpose is to show off Natalie’s gorgeous work. Consider us obsessed.
Y’all, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this month, we’re celebrating the second birthday of our studio. Magnoliahouse Creative started more than two years ago, as Irene Farrimond Creative, during stolen lunch hours and late nights. On February 11, 2014, we be came official with the IRS, I went full time with the business in May 2014, we rebranded as Magnoliahouse Creative in March 2015, and it’s been a haze of classic typography and citrus pictures ever since
Happy Friday, y’all! Today, we’re kicking things off with some timely inspiration. Pantone has named not one, but two gorgeous colors as the 2016 Color of the Year, and we’re sharing some of our favorite picks in the blissful hues. Want more? There’s a whole Pinterest board-full just a click away!
It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with marble at Magnoliahouse HQ – just check our homepage or our Instagram account for proof! Today we’re sharing some of our top picks for showing off this organic yet ultra-luxe texture. That Russel + Hazel binder? I need it in my life right.this.minute.
In the final phase of our design process, we carry your new brand image into a beautifully styled, ultra-functional website. Over the last year, we’ve fallen deeply in love with Squarespace websites, and recommend them for the majority of our clients. Instead of another long blog post, I thought it would be fun to jump over to Periscope and talk you through the differences between the platforms!
Through the first half of this week, we’ve discussed the delicious process of defining and styling your logo and your brand. Now it’s time to put those pieces to work by creating the supporting touchpoints that will actually reach your clients’s hands and eyes.
So, at this point, we’ve done the hard work of examining your business, making intentional choices about your brand and working those decisions into a beautiful logo. We’re giddy about the visual story your new brand is telling. But how do you carry that story, look and feel throughout every area of your business?
Today, we’re moving into discussing the second – and arguably sexiest – phase in our signature branding process: Logo Design. While it’s incredibly important to remember that a brand is so much more than a logo, there’s no denying that the logo is the crown jewel in the branding process.
Have you missed us? We’ve been using this time to love on our clients, as well as to take a deep dive into our current branding process and make some intentional changes to our process so that we can serve you in the best way possible
